The Challenge

The Orlando Airport was expanding their train control and monitoring systems for two electrical subsystems A2 and B4 in Orlando, FL. United Automation was tasked with providing monitoring, control, load management during normal and emergency electrical power conditions for the APM SCADA system. The system also needed to include an Ethernet TCP interface between the ATS train control system and the SCADA servers.

The Solution

UA delivered a redundant Cimplicity Server system with Emerson Rx3i PLCs that monitored all electrical parameters and provided control for the main circuit breakers, load shedding, and Emergency Shutdown. Data logging functionality was focused on the Meters, Faults, and Sequence of Events. Trending and reports can be generated on demand on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. Documentation and Training were provided as well.

This solution has been implemented for MHI in Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Miami International Airport, Orlando International Airport, Tampa International Airport, and Washington Dulles International Airport.
